    Cosima Grand

    Cosima Grand is a choreographer and dancer. In her artistic work, Cosima is primarily interested in the empathic potential of dance. In her practice, she explores how one can connect and resonate with each other through body movements and sensations. In her most recent choreographic works, she has developed a body practice based on swaying, trembling and springy movements and incorporates work with voice.

    Cosima graduated from Centre nationale de danse contemporaine (CNDC) in Angers France and was a member of Marchepied in Lausanne. She completed the Bachelor in multilingual communication at the University of Geneva and studied theater studies and sociolinguistics at the University of Berne. Cosima collaborates and performs with i.a. Ruth Childs, Aina Alegre, Simone Truong, Chris Leuenberger, Jessica Huber, Cie Utilité Publique.

    Her own choreographic work covers T-R-A-N-S (Cosima Grand and Pia Campos, 2011), Me, myself and I (Cosima Grand and Sabrina Zimmermann, 2013), BeMyselfAndDie (Cosima Grand and Davide Prudente, 2013, rewarded with the prize Fondation Bea pour jeunes artistes), CTRL-V (EP) (2nd prize PREMIO 2015), CTRL-V (LP) (2016), Hitchhiking through Winterland (2018), Restless Beings (2021), things veer (2023)

    Her work was shown i.a. at Festival Artdanthé Vanves, Kondenz Festival Belgrad, Festival June Events Paris, Untimely Festival Teheran, ROXY Birsfelden, Festival de la Cité Lausanne, Festival «frisch eingetroffen» Mannheim, Ludwigforum Aachen, Théâtre Sévelin 36 Lausanne, Tanzhaus Zürich, Dampfzentrale Bern, Südpol Luzern, Das Tanzfest in Berne and Basel, Festival Antigel Genève, Festival Belluard Fribourg, ADC Genève.

    Cosima is co-founder of Residenz Tanz Leuk. 2015 she was rewarded with the Kulturförderpreis from the Kanton Wallis and 2020 she gets a Kulturelle Auszeichnung from the city of Zurich.
